How Fast Is Your Life Moving?

Ferris Bueller said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” That’s good advice, both in life and in financial matters. And Ferris isn’t the only one who believes it.

You may know professional race car driver Danica Patrick for her ground-breaking career on the racetrack. But this September, she’s also promoting the power of life insurance as the spokesperson for Life Insurance Awareness Month, a month-long industry-wide campaign aimed at educating Americans about the importance of life insurance and helping them get the coverage they need. Her message is simple: "Driving race cars is risky. Not having life insurance to take care of your family is riskier. It means leaving your loved ones to suffer financially if something happened to you."

According to the 2016 Insurance Barometer Study by Life Happens and LIMRA, the Life Insurance Marketing & Research Association, one in three households would have immediate trouble paying living expenses if the primary wage earner died. The study also found that nearly 40% of Americans have NO life insurance at all. Too many people are taking an unnecessary risk by not protecting their loved ones with life insurance.

We all have someone we’d do absolutely anything for. So what happens when you’re not here anymore? Having life insurance shows you care about the people around you and you don’t want them to struggle.

“Most people don’t drive race cars for a living, so I think it’s probably easy for them to put off getting life insurance. You think you have time. You’re not expecting anything to happen, but it can,” says Danica. “A good friend of mine in racing just lost his car chief to a heart attack at 34 years old. That’s crazy! Bad things can happen. And that’s why life insurance is just an easy and smart way to eliminate a risk from your life.”

There is a reason why we call it life insurance, not death insurance. It cannot prevent you from dying. You will die, eventually; that’s 100% certain. Life insurance provides the funds to pay for all the things your income would have paid for. It prevents your dreams from dying with you. It represents the promises made to your family. That is what life insurance was created for. Life insurance is for the living.

Don't be underinsured. Talk to a professional insurance agent today to see how little it actually costs to make sure your hopes and dreams live on for your family.
