Pekin Insurance adds a new walking trail to campus.
As much as you might love your job, it can be nice to get up and take a break from your desk. Employee health and wellness are two factors that shouldn’t be overlooked by any company, and they’re considered priorities at Pekin Insurance.
We continue to expand our campus, and our most recent addition focuses on employee health and wellness in a unique way. The new Woodlands Trail provides a great space for employees to relax, exercise, and enjoy nature.
The start of the trail is marked with eagle carvings made from an old red oak tree that died before construction started. Directional rocks placed at several points act as guides along the trail.
A set of beautiful limestone stairs leads the way to a bridge that crosses a hidden creek. The Aerie Overlook, named for a hawk’s nest that rests above the location, provides great views and a perfect place for birdwatching.
While the Woodlands Trail is closed to the public, it is available to all employees and retirees with active badges and their immediate family if accompanied by an authorized person with a badge.
The trail is open 7 days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (April through October) and 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (November through March).
The Woodlands Trail is just one of the many perks that come along with employment at Pekin Insurance! To learn more about benefits and perks available to Pekin Insurance employees, check out our Careers Site.
