Flex Time and Summer Hours
Pekin Insurance wants you to thrive in and out of the office. That’s why we offer flex time and summer hours.
Here are some flex schedule examples:
- Working from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. four days of the week.
- Working from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Working any combination of days and hours that works for you, your department, and your manager.
We offer a summer schedule that lasts from Memorial Day to Labor Day. During that time, most employees work from 7:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Monday through Thursday but work on Friday from 7:00 a.m. to noon.
The arrival of a new child is magical and wonderful. We want you to enjoy it!
Pekin Insurance offers paid parental leave to all benefit-eligible employees after the birth of an employee’s child or the placement of an adopted child in an employee’s home.
Employees receive five consecutive work days of paid time to adapt to their new family situation and bond with their child.
Community involvement is a big part of who we are. Every year, Pekin Insurance employees get 16 paid volunteer hours to spend at a charity or organization of their choice.

More About Best Places to Work in Illinois
The Best Places to Work in Illinois awards program began in 2006 and is promoted by The Daily Herald Business Ledger in partnership with the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, MRA-The Management Association, the Small Business Advocacy Council, and Best Companies Group.
This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Illinois, benefiting the state's economy, workforce, and businesses.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Illinois. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation.
The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Illinois and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final ranking.
